My, how fast summer is flying by! To think that school will be starting in just 3 weeks. Well, I guess we had better get our crafting on before the school routine kicks in. Before I tell you about this weekend’s classes, I’d like to get your help. I’d like to know what kinds of classes you would be interested in taking, so I have added a poll to the blog so you can help me plan some new classes.
If you don’t see a listing for the craft that makes your heart sing, please leave a comment after voting and tell me what you would like to see offered. Who knows, maybe it will be the next BIG THING. I’m looking forward to learning what most interests you and would appreciate it if you shared the link to this poll with others you know who like to take craft classes. I’m hoping to better meet the needs of my audience in the future.
And now, for the Saturday, July 26, 2014 weekend class line-up.
Wow, saw this gorgeous vintage Christmas Card on Richele Christensen’s blog and knew I had to try something like this for my Christmas Cards this year. There are so many possible ways to use these techniques; my mind is spinning. I love the use of the texture paste to create a watercolor surface to use with the distress markers. The Stampers Anonymous stencils and stamps are perfect for my vintage heart. And to top it off – distress glitter – I love the vintage feel of the distress glitters. I think I will have to have them all. Hope this will inspire you as much as it did me. Now it’s time to go shopping for some new supplies!
I am so thrilled to be offering my first mixed media class: Mixed Media Assemblage Clock! It’s this Saturday, July 12, from 12:30 to 2:30. It features the Tim Holtz Assemblage Clock, Distress Paint Dabbers, Jewelry Pendant, and lots of Paper Flowers and Ribbon. So cute. You have to see it to believe it. Continue reading →
Remember the July 4th Décor Inspiration I posted earlier? Well, I decided to give this project a try…and here is my finished banner. It’s two-sided so I can hang it on a door frame between rooms if I want to.
3D Star Banner Front
3D Star Banner Back
I started with some leftover paper from the Tim Holtz Seasons Paper Pad and Some Cordenations Solid Cardstock. I used this 3D Star Template to cut out my star tips.
Well I finally got the email list sign-up forms completed and up and running. To join, just click on the link under “Join the email list!” to the right and it will take you to the sign-up form. It’s that easy. Then you will get an email sent directly to your inbox when I post something new.
Are you ready for some relaxation and fun (also known as crafting therapy)? I know I am! Well, why not join me this Saturday for some crafty classes?!
Have you ever wanted to see what scrapbooking is all about? Well, here’s your chance. This Saturday, June 28, 2014, I will be hosting a Scrapbooking 101 Class from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. The class is free, but you will need to purchase some supplies and bring along ten to twenty photos of your choice. I will take you through the organizational processes, basic design considerations, and essential tools and how to use them properly. We will work on a basic page layout before you leave the class to get you started on the scrapbooking journey.
Distressed Tags Class
Then I hope you will stick around for the Distress Tags Class from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. We will explore blending and distressing techniques using the wonderful Ranger Distress Ink Pads and Stampers Anonymous clear acrylic stamps and #8 manilla tags. Take these techniques and create your own wonderful bookmarks, gift tags and journal tags for your scrapbook pages. You will be in love with ‘Distress’ by the time we are done. This will be the last time this class is offered. Continue reading →
It’s not too late to sign-up for the Banners Made Easy Class. I will be teaching this class this Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. This will be the last time this class is offered, so don’t delay if you would like to come make this fun decorative banner (plus I’ll show you a cute card I made at a demo using leftover scraps from making this project).
Project Life 101 Class
Then following the Banner Class, I will be teaching the Project Life 101 Class from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Bring along 6 to 10 photos and I will show you the fundamentals of using the Project Life system to simplify and speed up from scrapbooking projects. This will also be the last time this class is offered.
I also have the Wreaths Made Easy Class scheduled for 12:30 – 2:30 pm that day, but regretfully I don’t have any photos of that project to post here. If you are interested in that class you need to sign-up as soon as possible. The class will be canceled if no one signs up by tomorrow, so don’t delay. This class will not be offered again. You can sign-up in the store or on-line for any of these classes.
Looking forward to seeing you there for some much needed fun and crafting!
I just saw this project in the Scrapbook Expo Weekly Scrapper newsletter and can’t wait to try it out. I have some wonderful leftover Tim Holtz 4th of July papers that would work really well for this project. So dig out your distress ink pads and let’s do some distressing! I’m thinking this would be interesting to do with a Christmas theme as well. What do you think? So hop on over to Lori Williams’ blog – Pinkcloud Scrappers – for the project directions and then change it up and make it your own.
What a week this has been. The last day of school and summer break has officially begun. Woo Hoo! And I have been finishing up the final touches on all of the new class samples for tomorrow’s Class Open House at Michaels. I will be in the store from 11am to 2pm displaying all our current and new class samples for everyone to see and to offer discounted class prices and a coupon good tomorrow for $20 towards your class supplies. What a deal! I hope I will get to meet some new friends and visit with old friends as we kick off the summer class schedule. See you there!
